cruise is over sad face

If you haven’t done some version of this “cruise is over” face, then you and I aren’t in the same boat. It usually happens on Night 7 when my favorite cruise bartender asks, “So how was your cruise?”  First I get angry, then sad, then hungry.  At some point during that flood of emotions, this is what my face looks like.   Feet up Friday - Keep calm and cruise on

I have a ritual – for six months before I cruise, I make this image my desktop background. Then, every Friday I take my shoes and socks off and put my feet up on my desk in front of these lady feet.  Next, I open my Ship Mate Cruise App and blast the ship horn and check out some of the latest user pics and reviews.  Roughly three minutes later, I turn around and apologize to my boss who is then standing behind me.   Pin the above pic so you can do the same.   Name that caption - cruise mummy

Every once in awhile we get a really interesting / strange photo submitted by our amazing Ship Mate users.  This is one example.  We sit there wondering what could possibly be going on in that pic and come up with different scenarios. Then we ask our Facebook community to tell us what they think is going on… with hilarious results.  Here are some of the better captions from our users:

“Self portrait, because my spouse keeps the room freezing!!!”

– Tammy M

“I said poor me a stiff one, not give me a stiff one.”

– Frances E

“This is what happens when you request extra towels… and extra company.”

– Mike J

ocean wave joke

Best. Ocean. Joke. Ever.

Q:  What did one ocean say to the other?

A:  Nothing, they just waved.

ship mate users more fun

“Ship Mate users are 74% more fun tan the average cruise goer.  It’s science.” This scientific fact was based on years of research from our world’s leading authorities on “fun” and “cruising.”  You can’t argue with the facts.

ship shipping ship

This will take a minute or so to get… at least for it did for me.  But, I’m slow.  Think about it… it’s a ship-shipping ship, shipping shipping ships.

Whoever thought of this is brilliantly weird.
sponges joke

I have to admit, I have no idea who Stephen Wright is.  But, this is pretty hilarious.

“Sponges grow in the ocean. That just kills me. I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be if that didn’t happen.”

– Stephen Wright

tom cruise ship

This I just have to apologize for.  When I was photoshopping it together, I thought it was pretty funny.  Then I posted it and sat there waiting for the “likes” to shoot up.  Well, guess my sense of humor is pretty dumb, because it flopped.  Oh well.

van morrison cruise quote

“Van the Man” is a critically acclaimed musician who’s career took off with the hit single “Brown Eyed Girl.”  He also provided a pretty sweet quote having to do with the ocean which I wanted to share.

“hark, now hear the sailors cry, smell the sea and feel the sky, let your soul and spirit fly, into the mystic…”

– Van Morrison

If that didn’t give you goose bumps, then… well… I’ve got nothing.

future of cruising

This FB submission was ridiculously popular last year and easily makes our Best Facebook Posts 2013. And, this “Name that Caption Contest” winner was easily chosen among the 142 submissions.  We had to go with…

“Monstrosity of the Seas”

– Diane R
