Zombie Cruise?!? 8 Craziest Niche Cruises

We’re not here to judge. We all have different interests and ways to express these… whether it’s getting naked with a bunch of strangers, or downward dogging on the poop deck. Whatever floats your boat! Speaking of floating boats, below you’ll find the eight craziest niche cruises.

ZOMBIE CRUISE

“Zombie Cruise” is not just a jab from a Carnival Cruise fan to a loyal Holland America cruiser. It’s a real thing! Well, kind of. From the makers of “The Walking Dead,” comes the Zombie Cruise early next year on the Norwegian Pearl.

Onboard activities aboard the Zombie Cruise include:

• Celebrity photo ops
• Autograph sessions
• Zombie gaming
• Costume contests
• Theme nights
• Eating each others’ eyeballs
• Throwing their own limbs overboard
• Trying really hard to tan

Ok, so those last few may have been our own additions.

The 3 night cruise sets sail on January 15 and sails from Miami to Nassau, Bahamas… which is the last place that we can picture zombies. Currently, the sailing is priced at $750 per person for double-occupancy. The first 1,000 to book get a limited edition lithograph of “The Walking Dead” signed by Norman Reeds (a famous zombie we suppose). More info here.

SWINGERS CRUISE

In attempts to stay as PC as possible, while still being informative, I’ll include multiple definitions or a “swinger” as provided by various online sources.

1) One that swings (i.e. a good swinger of baseball bats).

2) A person who actively seeks excitement and moves with the latest trends.

3) A person who engages in the exchanging of spouses for sexual activities.

While we’ve never witnessed swingers firsthand, we’d guess that the first definition is less relevant. The second is getting closer. And the third – well… ding ding ding.  The nudist cruise provider describes the cruise as “designed to entice the senses and stimulate your deepest desires.”

• Glow Panty Rave
• Fetish Friday
• Holiday Tease Party

None of those were made up. No need. I wonder if Fetish Friday includes any zombies. Eww, sorry for any mental images.

STAR WARS CRUISE

We previously wrote about the Star Wars Cruise that got thousands of “shares.”

Disney Cruise Lines has teamed up with George Lucas productions to launch the Star Wars Cruise. On it, die-hard fans will find all of their favorite characters, including: Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, and Stormtroopers.

Poor Chewy is gonna get a little stifled as the cruise departs from sunny Port Canaveral, Florida. Fortunately for our hairy pal, it’s during the winter.  Departures start on January 9, 2016 and there are a total of eight Star Wars Cruise itineraries running through April 16, 2016.

Onboard activities for passengers aboard the Star Wars Cruise include:

• Lightsaber class from a Jedi Master
• Star Wars arts & crafts
• Screening of the animated series “Star Wars Rebels”
• Autograph sessions
• Star Wars Trivia
• Mos Eisley Cantina scene reproduced in the nightclubs
• Star Wars specialty cocktails

PSYCHICS UNLEASHED CRUISE

“Connecting the Spirit – Past, Present and Future” – That is the bi-line to the “Psychics Unleashed Cruise.”

Appropriately, the sailing is hosted on the Carnival Spirit ship and leaves Sydney, Australia. The exact date of the even has yet to be released.  But, if you’re truly meant to be on the Psychics Unleashed Cruise, you probably already know when that date will be.

Onboard activities for the Psychics Unleashed Cruise include:

• Platform reading shows
• Psychic workshops
• Guessing what will be on the dinner menu
• Dominating the roulette wheel

Those last two items are unconfirmed. Barely any more info about the Psychics Unleashed Cruise here.

ZEN CRUISE

The Zen Cruise is described as a “powerful transformational journey at sea.” If you’ve ever sailed a Carnival ship during Spring Break… well, this would be the opposite experience.

Onboard activities for the Zen Cruise include:

• Yoga classes
• Spoken word performances
• “Sound healings”
• Musical acts
• “Late-night conscious carry-ons”

We’re guessing that less popular events during the sailing include belly-flop contests, the electric slide, and amateur karaoke hour. We wonder how zen these spiritual beings are while getting herded to their muster stations.

MEOW MEOW CAT CRUISE

Stranger than the Vampire Cruise is the Meow Meow Cat Cruise. The originator describes it as such:

“This is a cruise for people who love cats. I find every time I go on a cruise I run into some people who loves cats as much as I do and we end up sharing photos and talking about their personalities. So, I created this group cruise to bring us together. Unfortunately the little critters cannot join us but we can send postcards home.”

Onboard activities for the Meow Meow Cat Cruise include:

• Meow Meow Mixer
• Meow Meow Trivia
• Meow Meow Gambling
• Talking smack about dogs
• Trading lasagna recipes
• Sitting in the corner, judging people

The first three are real and the last few we tacked on for good measure.

KNITTING CRUISE

Apologies to all of our knitting enthusiasts out there, but this wins the award for the most boring themed cruise ever recorded. There’s totally some overlap with the Cat Cruise here, but the joke escapes us right meow. But, it has something to do with balls of yarn and cats and whatever.

Onboard activities for the Knitting Cruise include:

• Crocheting
• Needlepoint
• Handspinning
• Beading

The cruise departs at the end of the month (July 31, 2015) so hurry up and get your ticket here before they sell out, which will DEFINITELY happen.

NUDIST CRUISE

Have you ever had that dream in which, all of a sudden, you’re standing in front of your whole cruise naked?  If you woke up with a smile, then the Nudist Cruise might be right for you. This is no knitting cruise.

One of your first questions is probably:  “Hol’ up… are people naked at dinner?”  Don’t worry – no, they’re not. You won’t find a skin buffet.  Nudeness is permitted everywhere but meals and while at port.  Once the anchor is up, so are the dresses.

We’re curious… would this take the challenge out of a “peeping Tom’s” efforts?

• Watching nude people in the atrium
• Watching nude people play bingo
• Watching nude people do the electric slide
