Carnival Magic Cruise Ship is a Hero
Last week the 5,000-person Carnival Magic stopped on its way to Messina, Sicily to save a two-person crew stuck on a small yacht in the Mediterranean. The father & son team had lost power and was getting battered by heavy winds and huge waves when they issued a distress call. Cruise passengers watched the drama from their balconies as the captain strategically positioned the Magic to shield the small yacht from the wind and waves, while keeping a massive spotlight on the tossing ship. After several hours, the Spanish Coast Guard showed up and towed the two home safely and with a great story to tell their friends. The full story and more pics can be found here.
